How A PDO Thread Lift Works

During a PDO thread lift procedure, multiple sutures are placed into the deeper layers of skin beneath targeted treatment areas to address sagging, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. The patented MINT™ thread (Minimally Invasive Non Surgical Thread) we use at Dermatology Institute and Laser Center is manufactured with tiny barbs press-molded to its surface, which effectively catch onto tissues and allow for precise manipulation and long-lasting results.

MINT™ PDO is designed to naturally dissolve in the body, a completely safe process that takes approximately 6-8 months. When placed, the barbed threads create micro-injuries in the layers of skin beneath the treatment area and trigger the body’s natural wound-healing responses. As a result, collagen and elastin production are stimulated, processes that continue to powerfully rejuvenate the skin long after the sutures are gone.

MINT™ PDO thread lift treatments are performed in our state-of-the-art office. Local anesthetic is administered to ensure your comfort and threads are expertly placed by Dr. Ros using an ultra-fine cannula (surgical needle). The entire procedure usually takes no more than about 45 minutes.

Recovery & Results

Compared to a surgical facelift, a MINT™ PDO thread lift requires very little downtime. You are likely to experience some tenderness or bruising in the first 48 hours after treatment and may need to avoid intense exercise, steam baths and saunas, and the application of makeup and/or skincare products. Dr. Ros will provide more detailed pre and post-procedure information tailored to your specific situation.

The sutures placed during a MINT™ PDO thread lift should completely dissolve within 6-8 months after treatment, leaving behind healthier, more elastic skin. The results of a thread lift can last for a year or more, depending on the circumstances!
