Xeomin® is an injectable treatment that softens expression lines by relaxing the facial muscles. Safe, effective, and minimally invasive, it can help to eliminate frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and more. If you are looking to achieve a more youthful aesthetic without undergoing an invasive surgical procedure, Xeomin® may be an ideal treatment option.
At Dermatology Institute and Laser Center, Dr. Ros and her exceptional team possess the experience and expertise to administer Xeomin® with the utmost precision. To learn more about natural-looking Xeomin® results that can truly turn the clock back, contact our Clifton or Rockaway clinic today!
How Xeomin® Works
Xeomin® is an FDA-approved neuromodulator. Its active ingredient, Botulinum Toxin Type A, blocks nerve activity in targeted muscles, causing them to relax. When wrinkle-forming muscles relax, the skin’s surface becomes smooth, erasing lines and contributing to an overall younger and less worried appearance.
Xeomin® is similar to other injectable neuromodulators such as Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau™, but is distinguished by a pure structure that contains no protein additives and makes patients less likely to develop a resistance to it. If other injectable neuromodulator treatments have not yielded the cosmetic outcomes you’d hoped for, Xeomin® may offer a more effective alternative.
What Xeomin® Treats
Xeomin® targets muscles that contribute to a wide variety of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. At Dermatology Institute and Laser Center, our team commonly recommends it for the treatment of:
- Frown lines
- Crow’s feet
- Horizontal lines
- Glabellar lines
- Smile lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Droopy eyelids

Am I A Good Candidate For Xeomin®?
If you are in overall good health and looking to address moderate to severe frown lines and wrinkles, you are likely a good candidate for Xeomin®. That being said, Dr. Ros will take the time to carefully analyze your health status, medical history, and cosmetic goals before recommending Xeomin® as a treatment option.
You may not be a suitable candidate for Xeomin® if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have allergies to any of the ingredients in Xeomin®
- Have certain neurological disorders
- Have an infection that affects the injection site
If Dr. Ros determines that Xeomin® is not the optimal fit for your needs, she will recommend another treatment option to help you achieve your cosmetic goals.
What To Expect From Treatment
Dr. Ros and the team at Dermatology Institute and Laser Center will provide clear instructions to help you prepare for your Xeomin® treatment. These may include not consuming alcohol for 24 hours, pausing blood thinners or certain supplements, and avoiding specific types of skin care products.
The treatment itself is performed in our state-of-the-art office and usually takes only a few minutes. If you are concerned about pain, a topical numbing agent can be applied prior to treatment, but most patients report that the injections just feel like a small pinch. Dr. Ros is highly skilled at injecting Xeomin® to exacting standards and is known for her ability to achieve natural-looking results that don’t appear “frozen”. The comfort and safety of her patients are her top priorities at all times.

I have a very delicate skin condition (perioral dermatitis) and I remember I went to different Dr’s trying to figure out what I had this rash on my face and no Dr could’ve pinpoint the problem. As soon as Dr.Ross checked me, she pinpointed my problem and gave me a solution. I am so thankful for Dr. Ross and the rest of the staff and Dr’s. Celia Moreira2022-07-26 Dr Ros was so thorough and compassionate. She took her time, listening to all of my elderly mom's questions and concerns. It was a delicate situation and Dr. Ros was excellent!! Alex prepped my mom before she saw Dr. Ros. Without Alex's suggestion for my mom to get a body check, the hidden pre-cancerous spot might not have been detected and treated. Thank you for the extra care. Mabel was also part of the excellent team. Thank you. If I could, I would give 10 stars! Susan C2022-07-20

Xeomin® is approved by the FDA and considered to be a safe and effective treatment for moderate to severe frown lines. As with any medical treatment, however, there is always the risk of potential side effects. Rare long-term effects of Xeomin® can include muscle weakness and vision problems. For specific concerns, speak directly with Dr. Ros.
How Does Xeomin® Differ From Botox®?
