Hair Loss

Hair loss affects both men and women, and can be caused by a number of factors – including side effects of medication, stress, pregnancy, a manifestation of a health disorder or the natural aging process. Alopecia areata is a common condition that causes hair loss – with hair falling out in patches anywhere on the body (most commonly on the scalp) and is often caused by an autoimmune disease, where the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles and prevents hair from growing.

In treating hair loss for both women and men, we start with a full evaluation and diagnosis of what is causing the problem.

Once the cause of the problem is identified, we can then discuss the best treatment plan for your specific needs, which includes a number of options for non-surgical solutions to hair growth, including oral medications and topical treatments, as well as minimally invasive procedures for hair growth – which can include PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) or other injections.
At Dermatology Institute and Laser Center, we’ve also achieved very favorable results with Capillus, an FDA approved laser cap that uses low level laser therapy to energize cells in the hair follicle stimulating hair growth and resulting in thicker, stronger hair.

If you are concerned about hair loss, Dr. Ros and her team can provide you with a number of different options to help hair regrowth and help you feel more confident about the way you look.
